CTS are always on the lookout for new staff to work on traffic surveys in all parts of the country. All the work available is on a casual basis – we can only offer shifts as and when they are available when we have a contract in your area.
Work is carried out in all weather conditions, and you will often be working outdoors – surveys range from simple roadside traffic counts to face to face interviews, on board bus passenger counts to train punctuality surveys – and many more besides.
Previous experience isn’t necessary, although enthusiasm, attention to detail and flexibility are: and if you have a full driving license and your own transport, we’ll be especially interested. We pay competitive rates which vary depending on shift patterns and complexity of the job.
Working alone or as part of a team, the ideal candidate will be used to working long and unsociable hours, and be prepared to work quickly and accurately, often at short notice.
Duties will involve the installation, maintenance and operation of temporary CCTV systems, Automatic Traffic Counters and various other equipment used for the collection of traffic and transport data.
Training will be available for non-CCTV equipment, but you must have a working knowledge of installation and maintenance of CCTV equipment.
A full Driving license is necessary for this job, as well as a willingness to work away from home, sometime for extended periods. Other industry qualifications (such as working at heights, Signing, Guarding and Lighting etc) would also be an advantage.
